Some tips to make money on MTURK
In MTURK Tasks are termed as HIT(Human Intelligence Task)
- If you are new to Mturk, then start with the HITs that are easy and
available most. The idea here is to increase your HIT approval rate (%).

- Writing and transcription HITS as observed by me used to pay more, so try
doing these HITs. Or, check the HITS that pay more over a period of time. If
you are not able to do these high paying frequent HITs because you don’t have
the skills then get those skills. But make sure to analyze over a period of few
months that these types of HITs frequently comes at Mturk as you might waste
your money in acquire these skills unnecessarily. I think that the chances that
your skills will go waste are remote as you will definitely get work from some
other sites also. Skills never go waste if you keep on looking for ways to utilize

- Use a good fast broadband connection so that you get the HIT when you

cases as they are only interested in their commissions from Requester and not
in getting your money from Requester. They give a shit about Worker’s money
(it hurts but it’s true).
Also, on the other hand, appreciate a Requester who approves all your HITs and
pays quickly. Write and maintain a contact with these Good Requesters. The
probability is there that the Requester may choose you and other similar
quality workers exclusively for future similar HITS at the same rates. Also, they
may give you the work directly without Mturk if they find that the work
requires skilled workers who are already in touch with them through email.
What is the point for a genuine Requester to get the HITS done through MTURK
if the same workers are directly available to do the same work at the same
rates minus the Requester commission paid to Mturk? Requester in such cases
will thus save their commissions otherwise given to Mturk for posting the same
HITS there.
Also, sometimes, the instructions given by the Requester in the HIT are not
100% complete (despite their best attempts). When you contact such Requester
after your HIT work is rejected and correspond with them, they take care to
relax their approvals accordingly and also take care to include full details for
the future similar HITs posted at Mturk.
